Sellari Chiropractic Center Eliminates Chronic Pain

Having recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, the Sellari Chiropractic Center continues to provide neck and back pain relief for patients across the state. With a practice that has delivered care to almost 7,000 patients, it is clear that Dr. Sellari’s hands-on approach to chiropractic care is a popular choice among sufferers. Dr. Sellari, who received his doctorate of chiropractic degree from the National College of Chiropractic, views chiropractic care as a “natural, holistic art form” that is geared towards the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.

Drawn to the field after receiving chiropractic treatment while playing college football, Dr. Sellari loves chiropractic medicine because it is a natural way to help people safely and effectively without the use of medication. Since opening Sellari Chiropractic Center in his hometown of North Brunswick, he has devoted much of his time to keeping up with postgraduate education. He proudly continues to stay on the cutting edge of what is happening in both the chiropractic profession and healthcare in general. The center utilizes a multi-discipline, team-oriented approach to pain management. In addition to standard chiropractic care, he also incorporates disciplines like exercise therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture and trigger point therapy.

Dr. Sellari has experience treating a multitude of problems including neck pain, arthritis, carpel tunnel, sciatica and back pain. He has been known to eliminate the need for spinal surgery through his chiropractic approach. A young patient who suffered from debilitating headaches was recently treated by the team. After receiving their multifaceted approach to chiropractic care and pain management, the patient is no longer plagued by pain. Lately, the doctor finds that many patients come to his facility with upper back pain that he attributes to poor posture caused by handheld technology. Being hunched over for long periods of time creates chronic neck strain, tight muscles and reduced range of motion, which over time can lead to more serious problems.

Patients experience a family-like environment within the Sellari Chiropractic Center. Dr. Sellari reveals that many of his out-of-state patients often visit him along with their families when they return home. Dr. Sellari was the chiropractor for Professional Bowlers Association tour and has been on a medical quality improvement board and academic advisory committee for a major insurance company. He has experience in and is available for public speaking and has done many seminars on health and wellness. While his countless professional successes garner much respect, he explains, “The ultimate joy of being a health care provider is being to help so many people. My patients are caring and motivated to get better—it’s very rewarding.”

Tick Talk

Spring officially sprung on March 21. We have turned our clocks ahead. We are looking forward to warm winds, sunny skies and the smell of fresh cut grass. The daffodils and tulips have recently bloomed and we are just starting with the yard work that comes with the warmer weather.  Sadly, another season has started ramping up.  Tick season.

•             The best form of protection is prevention. Educating oneself about tick activity and how our behaviors overlap with tick habitats is the first step.

•             According to the NJ DOH, in 2022 Hunterdon County led the state with a Lyme disease incidence rate of 426 cases per 100,000 people. The fact is ticks spend approximately 90% of their lives not on a host but aggressively searching for one, molting to their next stage or over-wintering. This is why a tick remediation program should be implemented on school grounds where NJ DOH deems high risk for tick exposure and subsequent attachment to human hosts.

•             Governor Murphy has signed a bill that mandates tick education in NJ public schools. See this for the details.  Tick education must now be incorporated into K-12 school curriculum. See link:

•             May is a great month to remind the public that tick activity is in full swing. In New Jersey, there are many tickborne diseases that affect residents, including Anaplasmosis, Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, Lyme disease, Powassan, and Spotted Fever Group Rickettsiosis.

•             For years, the focus has mainly been about protecting ourselves from Lyme disease. But other tick-borne diseases are on the rise in Central Jersey. An increase of incidence of Babesia and Anaplasma are sidelining people too. These two pathogens are scary because they effect our blood cells. Babesia affects the red blood cells and Anaplasma effects the white blood cells.

•             Ticks can be infected with more than one pathogen. When you contract Lyme it is possible to contract more than just that one disease. This is called a co-infection. It is super important to pay attention to your symptoms. See link.
