MY STORY: Will Parker

Nov 07, 2024 08:15AM ● By Jerome Bilaos

Will Parker sits down with Michael Mahoney to share his journey to restored health using a variety of energy therapies offered at Advanced Frequency Energy Spa.

MM: Will, how did you discover Advanced Frequency Energy Spa?

WP: I came across it while seeking relief from chronic joint pain, recommended by a trusted friend. After two bouts of COVID and two debilitating cases of Lyme disease from working on my farm, I found myself with chronic joint pain and inflammation, waking at night, unable to rest. It wasn’t just a minor ache; it left me feeling drained before the day even began. During a visit, the kindness and authenticity of the owners, Michael and Trish, stood out to me. I set up a course of therapy sessions in their Energy Enhancement System™ room, hoping it might alleviate the pain and help me get back to myself.

MM: What were your initial experiences with the therapies?

WP: I quickly noticed changes which was encouraging so I started going several times a week to the spa’s Energy Enhancement System™ room. My joint pain began subsiding fast. I also made complementary changes to my diet, sleep, hydration and exercise routines. Every session seemed to peel away a layer of tension, and I began to feel stronger and more energized.

MM: Did you notice any changes beyond the pain relief?
WP: Absolutely. My sleep improved dramatically, and I woke up more refreshed. What really stood out was my ability to get back into running. The pain vanished, and soon I was easing into training consistently again—something I hadn’t done in years.

MM: Did you try any of the other services offered at Advanced Frequency Energy Spa?

WP: Yes, besides the Energy Enhancement System™, which immerses you in a calming, energy-enhancing environment designed to support deep relaxation and cellular regeneration, I decided to try the Superhuman Protocol™. SHP is a three-step process starting with pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy to improve circulation, oxygen absorption and optimize cell function. Next is exercise with oxygen therapy (EWOT) to saturate your entire body with oxygen, elevating energy, vitality and supplying the body with healing raw materials. Finally, step three is red light therapy in a state-of-the art light-bed which supports cellular health, recovery, pain relief and healing. These therapies work in harmony to help you recover faster, boost overall wellness, and unlock your body’s full potential. The staff, Yasmin Tristan and Marian are incredibly knowledgeable and take the time to personally explain everything and make you feel comfortable and uplifted.

MM: As you continued the sessions, did anything else change?

WP: Yes, and it was unexpected. I found myself able to get back into racing and hitting times comparable to eight years ago. One recent accomplishment was a bucket-list 30k race in the Swiss Alps, with over a mile of vertical climb. I felt the exhilaration that reminded me I wasn’t just recovering—I was thriving. Crossing that finish line was proof of my body’s recovery and was a significant milestone moment in my long journey back to living the healthy active lifestyle that I had enjoyed before COVID and Lyme disease.

MM: How did the therapy affect your training and recovery as a runner?
WP: One thing that stood out was faster recovery after long runs. Runners know that heavy, sore feeling in your legs the days after a big effort. With regular Energy Enhancement System™ sessions, coupled with the Superhuman Protocol™ sessions, my muscles bounced back much quicker, allowing me to maintain my mileage. Better sleep, less soreness, and renewed energy meant I could train effectively and without the usual limiting fatigue and soreness.

MM: You mentioned physical tests—how did those reflect your progress?
WP: As a runner, as well as noting paces, I track my VO2 max, a key measure of cardiovascular fitness. Before therapy, those numbers had dropped significantly due to illness and pain. But as my health improved, my VO2 max increased, reaching levels I hadn’t seen in years—a tangible sign of recovery and renewed endurance. Superhuman Protocol™ has been shown to help improve VO2 max and in my case that definitely occurred.

MM: What would you say to others considering trying the Advanced Frequency Energy Spa?
WP: I wholeheartedly believe in the benefits of this technology. It’s not just the sessions—it’s how they complement an overall approach to well-being. I finally feel fully recovered from Lyme and COVID, and for anyone seeking relief from chronic pain, fatigue, or wanting to improve health as we age, I highly recommend making this part of your life journey. The results speak for themselves, and it’s been life-changing for me.

Tick Talk

Spring officially sprung on March 21. We have turned our clocks ahead. We are looking forward to warm winds, sunny skies and the smell of fresh cut grass. The daffodils and tulips have recently bloomed and we are just starting with the yard work that comes with the warmer weather.  Sadly, another season has started ramping up.  Tick season.

•             The best form of protection is prevention. Educating oneself about tick activity and how our behaviors overlap with tick habitats is the first step.

•             According to the NJ DOH, in 2022 Hunterdon County led the state with a Lyme disease incidence rate of 426 cases per 100,000 people. The fact is ticks spend approximately 90% of their lives not on a host but aggressively searching for one, molting to their next stage or over-wintering. This is why a tick remediation program should be implemented on school grounds where NJ DOH deems high risk for tick exposure and subsequent attachment to human hosts.

•             Governor Murphy has signed a bill that mandates tick education in NJ public schools. See this for the details.  Tick education must now be incorporated into K-12 school curriculum. See link:

https://www.nj.gov/education/broadcasts/2023/sept/27/TicksandTick-BorneIllnessEducation.pdf

•             May is a great month to remind the public that tick activity is in full swing. In New Jersey, there are many tickborne diseases that affect residents, including Anaplasmosis, Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, Lyme disease, Powassan, and Spotted Fever Group Rickettsiosis.

•             For years, the focus has mainly been about protecting ourselves from Lyme disease. But other tick-borne diseases are on the rise in Central Jersey. An increase of incidence of Babesia and Anaplasma are sidelining people too. These two pathogens are scary because they effect our blood cells. Babesia affects the red blood cells and Anaplasma effects the white blood cells.

•             Ticks can be infected with more than one pathogen. When you contract Lyme it is possible to contract more than just that one disease. This is called a co-infection. It is super important to pay attention to your symptoms. See link.
